​What is AISI? 

​The AI Safety Institute is the first state-backed organization focused on frontier AI safety for the public interest. Its mission is to minimize surprise to the UK and humanity from rapid and unexpected advances in AI. We plan to do this by developing the sociotechnical infrastructure needed to understand the risks of advanced AI and support its governance.  

​AISI attendees: Yarin Gal, Research Director of AISI will be attending alongside Nitarshan Rajkumar (Senior Policy Advisor to Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology), and Herbie Bradley & Max Kaufmann (members of our Research Unit).
