The Art of Line: Line Drawing of Flowers and Birds 线的艺术-书法与花鸟线描练习
Description
In the first week of class, we will be debunking stereotypes of Chinese painting's "lack of realism," revealing the exquisite realism (the accurate depiction of reality) of Song Dynasty bird-and-flower paintings. Then, we will be looking into fundamental tools (brush, ink, paper, inkstone) and line techniques in Chinese painting.
We will provide ink, paint, brushes, and paper for class use. You may take all the artwork you’ve produced with you!
Every “Ink Painting Lab” is composed of lectures on Chinese ink art history, painting technique demonstration and practicing sessions. You can click on this link to learn more about the full semester class. Classes are beginner-friendly. Themes are interconnected yet self-contained. Students may come for the full 8-week class, specific topic(s) and/or at any point in the semester!

We do serve non-perishable drinks as part of Accent membership’s benefit. You may enjoy them in designated areas. If you have specific dietary needs or medical conditions that require personal food or drinks, please notify the studio in advance so we can make appropriate accommodations.
