AI Renaissance - The Grid edition
The AI Rennaisance
The Renaissance was a period of significant acceleration in science, medicine, and a shift toward a more humanistic society, leaving the gloom of the Middle Ages behind—an era of new beginnings, innovation, and the rebirth of humanity.
In the AI Renaissance, artificial intelligence is used as a tool for humans, not to replace them, and accelerates progress in medicine, science, and society.
Join us for Berlin kisses San Francisco in the Grid edition at the Merantix AI Campus.
We invite startups, AI builders, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in artificial intelligence to network and meet the AI scene.
Our event focuses on showcasing the state of AI building and the AI startup ecosystem. At the event, AI builders and startups share their experiences, tricks, and what they have built with AI.
Startups and AI builders can apply to the demo and network stations for free. Simply reserve a spot and add your project to the registration form.

What is the Grid?
The Grid enables you to network and connect easily.
Networking is an integral part of our events, so we'll help you meet and network at special themed, The Grid-accelerated spots that make it easy to start your conversation. The Grid helps you share your connection profile and helps you build your network, icebreakers included.
Space is limited, so please RSVP now to secure your spot. Take a look at photos from past events.

Startup and AI Project Showcases
During the Networking phase startups will get the opportunity to showcase what they are building in the AI space on dedicated demo tables. A brief Overvie of what's waiting for you:
Mastering German inheritance law with the help of RAG, and LLMs.
HealthSearch: Search for positive and adverse drug effects on health outcomes.
Daniel Gibson: conversational commerce: search for products and purchase products entirely using chat or voice. Technologies used: Weaviate, Shopify, OpenAI API, Microsoft Azure.
naavi.network: Generating Personalised Education Pathways
MindEight: Generative AI with an energy network suppliers
GPTTech: Independent generative AI blog for readers from tech and non-tech backgrounds interested in generative AI.
Spoke.ai: communication co-pilot to stay on top of your communication and messages
AskAiden: democratizes access to personalized, adaptive learning, fostering critical thinking while making education consistent, efficient, and affordable, anytime, anywhere.
Punktum: expert services for Digital health innovators use our product design, R&D, and deep-tech engineering expertise to build solutions that resonate well with the market.
MIRAI: ready-to-use AI systemfor controlling industrial robots. We enable automation where automation was previously not viable.
sci2sci - search engine for datasets using Elasticsearch
DeepFile: We power up your internal search with AI while preserving your privacy.
JELLYSPACE: with SCM-AI we address the disintermediation of Supply chains i.e. removal of human-in-the-loop as much as possible
Aracor AI - Legal Assistency: contract review etc. for businesses and individuals + insturment for lawyers - LLMs, Vector Search, Crypthography
Danu Insight: LobbyLens: quantify and mitigate the systemic risks of climate change and biodiversity loss.
codinit: for Phython Developers to overcome the constant overhead of getting familiar with a library’s API. auto-generate code using library through prompts with self-healing through feedback from runtime environment and code analysis tools
Tech Talks:
Tech Talk 1: Using Generative AI and Hybrid Search in the medical domain
Speaker: Victoria Slocum, ML Engineer at Weaviate
In the AI Renaissance, a period marked by innovation for the good of humanity, medicine holds so much possibility for progress. In this talk, I'll explore the importance of building AI-native applications, where generative AI and hybrid search fit in building healthcare applications, and how some of this stuff works on a more technical level. I'll also showcase a demo of an app that can leverage different techniques to provide more insight into the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout the talk, we'll look at AI's dual role in information management: its potential for misinformation versus its power to streamline decision-making and improve our understanding of complex data.
Tech Talk2: Speeding up RAG evaluation with Fondant
Speaker: Matthias Richter, Machine Learning Engineer at ML6
Tuning your RAG system to get optimal performance takes time. You need to define evaluation metrics, load your data, run the evaluation, and somehow tune your parameters (chunk size, embedding model, ...) based on the outcome.
In this talk, we will show how you can speed up this evaluation process with Fondant using the RAG tools you already know: Weaviate, LlamaIndex, LangChain, and Ragas.
Tech Talk 3: The game guide for vector search
Speaker: David Trippett, Senior Developer Advocate at OpenSearch (AWS)
Getting into vector search can be intimidating even for a skilled team. Let’s create a game guide for it! We will start with evaluating your organization's current skill level, your goals for vector search, and then will talk through some roadmaps that can help you get started on your vector search quest. By the end, you will have a good idea of which path to take on your vector search quest!
We are looking forward to welcoming YOU!
