​Sowmya Ranganathan

​Sowmya founded Lumera to help companies build high-performing finance teams by leveraging the power of AI.

​Before Lumera, she served as Controller at OpenAI—the creators of ChatGPT—joining the team in March 2023 during the launch of ChatGPT Plus. There, she scaled the Controllership function to accurately report on multi-billion-dollar revenues and support a platform of over 400 million weekly active users. Prior to OpenAI, Sowmya was the first accounting hire at Rippling, where she led the Accounting team through a period of extraordinary growth from a Series A startup into a decacorn valued at over $10 billion. Earlier in her career, she held key finance leadership roles at various technology companies, including Square during its IPO.

​Through these experiences, Sowmya developed deep expertise in applying software and AI to streamline finance and operational workflows.

​Angela Liu

​Angela Liu is the Founder of GaapSavvy with extensive experience in technical accounting and advisory roles. She spent 11 impactful years at KPMG, departing as a Director specializing in the adoption of new revenue standards, witnessing firsthand the complexities companies face with consistent interpretation and implementation.

​In 2015, Angela joined Glassdoor as the Director of Technical Accounting and Revenue, gaining deep insights into operationalizing financial strategies, automating processes, and effectively building teams.

​Inspired by these experiences, she founded GaapSavvy in 2017, dedicated to empowering finance teams through collaborative knowledge-building and fostering expert communities, drawing inspiration from successful industry forums and AICPA Task Forces.
