Exploring the Emotional Mind and Body

Emotions are powerful forces that impact how we feel, think, and respond to the world around us. Yet, many of us are so accustomed to managing life’s demands that we rarely pause to connect with what our emotions are telling us, especially in the body. This workshop offers an embodied approach to understanding emotions, guiding you to recognize where they manifest physically and how they influence your sense of empowerment.

Through engaging activities and group sharing, we’ll explore the connection between mind and body, moving beyond intellectual understanding into a more visceral awareness of emotions. This session will show you how to manage emotions practically, allowing you to connect deeply with yourself and feel more grounded, resilient, and empowered in all areas of your life.

A Journey of Inner Discovery and Empowerment

In this 2-hour session, we’ll explore techniques to identify and observe emotions as they appear physically, giving you the tools to stay centered even when faced with challenging feelings. You’ll learn to recognize emotional triggers and discover how to work with emotions instead of against them, allowing you to transform frustration, anger, or sadness into empowering states. By connecting with our bodies, we’ll uncover how emotions manifest and influence our lives—an essential skill for personal empowerment and growth.

Wei Ching

​​​Founder of SELF, Wei Ching has facilitated numerous conversations around personal development as the lead facilitator of the BetterSelf programme. This program empowers individuals to build self-awareness and self-confidence, resulting in transformative outcomes such as securing employment and practicing self-care and self-love. She also brings a rich foundation in coaching and process-oriented psychology, actively pursuing advanced training in both areas to deepen her practice.

​​​In addition to her work with SELF, Wei Ching is an Adjunct Fellow in Data Science at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Academy. Wei Ching blends her expertise in data-driven insights with a compassionate, growth-focused approach, offering participants impactful guidance that fosters lasting personal transformation.

This session introduces you to “inner characters,” or emotions, helping you build a deeper emotional vocabulary and connection to your feelings. By befriending your emotions, you’ll learn to see them as valuable guides, enhancing your journey of self-understanding.

Session 2: Managing Emotions for Personal Empowerment
Date & Time: 26 Nov, 7-9pm
Learn how emotions manifest physically and develop practical ways to work with them for personal empowerment. This session focuses on body-centered practices to observe emotions as they arise, transforming difficult feelings into sources of strength and resilience. Gain tools to manage emotions constructively, creating a solid foundation for emotional balance in daily life.

Session 3: Expressing Emotions for Authentic Connection
Date & Time: 3 Dec, 7-9pm
Discover the power of authentic emotional expression and its role in creating deep connections with yourself and others. This final session provides a safe space to express emotions without judgment, fostering confidence and a sense of freedom. Through guided exercises, you’ll learn to release emotions constructively, honouring your true self and embracing genuine self-expression.
