Greenhouse Gas Removal in the PNW: Reasons for Hope
As we work to decarbonize our economies, we will still need to remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere to prevent significant atmospheric warming, and the United Nations' IPCC target of removing billion tons of GHGs per year is daunting.
The Pacific Northwest possesses a wealth of resources to foster different GHG removal projects, including abundant clean energy, extensive forests and farms, its conscientious maritime community, highly skilled talent, and history of innovative, creative problem-solving. This panel will feature local experts who are leading different projects that put the PNW on the climate map.
Join us for a thoughtful discussion as we dive into local expertise on biochar, enhanced rock weathering, marine solutions, durable sequestration, and carbon upcycling, and plan to leave with a bit of HOPE and strategies for where to invest in climate next!
