Making Agua Florida
Join us for our second workshop led by a visiting herbalist! Jasmín Duran will be leading a hands-on workshop making our own agua florida (Florida Water)! Learn the traditional uses of agua florida as a spiritual tool used topically to move energy: to dispel, shift, cleanse, ground and protect on the body and in spaces we inhabit. We’ll learn about the healing properties of herbs from a spiritual/ traditional perspective and ways we can incorporate this medicine in our wellness and spiritual care practice. Participants will go home with their own homemade agua florida.
Jasmín is a clinical herbalism student, educator, and community care practitioner whose work lives at the crossroads of ancestral wisdom, migration, youth work, and land-based healing. A graduate of Sacred Vibes Apothecary’s Spiritual Herbalism Apprenticeship and currently studying at Arbor Vitae, she brings a trauma-informed, culturally rooted approach to her practice. Through her herbal line meztli medicinals, mutual aid clinics, and healing justice work, Jasmín nurtures radical care, connection, and reciprocity with land and community.
Nestled in the intersections of decolonization, immigration, youth work, healing justice, land and herbalism, Jasmín’s work seeks to uplift, celebrate and preserve the legacy of ancestral healing, wisdom, and technologies in the diaspora. As a child of immigrants, Jasmín embodies a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of the migrant experience in the US. As an educator, her work is participatory, culturally aware, youth centered and trauma informed. Today, she continues to support youth in NYC, working in an anti-violence organization where she co-creates brave spaces with young people to unpack, question, dream and decolonize.

Our goal is to make this workshop accessible to all. No one will be turned away due to financial restrictions. However, if you are able, we would appreciate donations toward the higher end of our flexible scale which make this workshop—and future workshops—possible. $15 funds the materials needed for each person per class. $25 will fund your materials and those of a neighbor! :) Anything beyond that will put towards future classes.
