Edward Baran - Vernissage

​La galerie Amelie du Chalard présente la première exposition personnelle consacrée à Edward Baran (1934–2021) depuis sa disparition. Figure de la création contemporaine, Edward Baran a développé une œuvre singulière, à la croisée du geste pictural, du tissage et de la sculpture du vide.

​Du 4 au 20 septembre, au cœur du 6ᵉ arrondissement, l’exposition propose un retour sur l’ensemble de sa carrière à travers une sélection d’œuvres rares, dont certaines seront présentées pour la première fois au public. On y découvre une pratique nourrie par le rythme, la matière, traversée par une tension où l’artiste déconstruit la surface avec une rigueur presque insolente.

​Galerie Amelie du Chalard presents the first solo exhibition devoted to Edward Baran (1934-2021) since his death. A leading figure in contemporary art, Edward Baran developed a singular body of work, at the crossroads of the pictorial gesture, weaving and the sculpture of emptiness.

​From 4 to 20 September, in the heart of the 6ᵉ arrondissement, the exhibition offers a look back at his entire career through a selection of rare works, some of which will be shown to the public for the first time. We discover a practice nourished by rhythm and matter, shot through with a tension in which the artist deconstructs the surface with an almost insolent rigour.

​This exhibition celebrates a rare and profoundly demanding artist, whose work continues to resonate with its silent force, its mastery of emptiness and the subtle tension between matter and space.
