About this event:

Join us for a panel discussion about entrepreneurship with 2022’s winning cohort of South Florida-based Google Latino Founders. Students will have the opportunity to hear from creators of three local, innovative startups - Navigate Accelerator, People Clerk and Wisecut - and ask questions about their experiences as Latinos in the startup space, their entrepreneurial journey, how they leveraged private investment to grow, and the importance of ensuring equity and accessibility within their teams and in their outreach to customers.

Learn About the Guests: 

1. Pedro Sostre: CEO of Navigate Accelerator

Pedro Sostre is an entrepreneur and author in the tech and e-commerce space, Pedro Sostre is the founder of “Navigate Accelerator” a platform that democratizes access to support early-stage entrepreneurs. Pedro has driven over $100M in revenue to early stage startups and is now focused on helping under-supported founders. Over the past 5 years Pedro has guided hundreds of founders and led startups for WeWork and his accelerator program, Navigate, at the LAB in Wynwood.

2. Camila Lopez: CEO of People Clerk 

Camila Lopez, is a J.D, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and is a California licensed attorney, whose passion is to make the law accessible to all through her case management platform, People Clerk. As co-founder, she supports her customers throughout the small claims court process, where the litigant can prepare, file, and serve the lawsuit, as well as create a judge-friendly trial binder for the hearing.

3. Ivo Machado: CEO of  Wisecut 

Ivo Machado is a Brazilian-born award-winning serial entrepreneur based in Miami, FL, with over 15 years of video editing experience. He is one of the co-founders and CEO of Wisecut AI Video Editor, which provides a platform that leverages speech recognition and AI to edit videos automatically and at scale. Soon after launching, Wisecut joined the Miami accelerator TheVentureCity and Google For Startups, becoming the go-to application for thousands of creators.

4. Hector Mujica: (Moderator) Head of Economic Opportunity, Google.org, Americas

Hector Mujica, who holds a BA in International Business from FIU and a Master of Public Affairs from UC Berkeley,  leads economic opportunity efforts at Google.org—Google’s philanthropy—across the Americas. In this role, Hector directs a $100M+ grantmaking portfolio that supports pathways to digital economy jobs for individuals with barriers to employment. Hector also serves on Google’s Latino Leadership Council, where he stewards Google’s social impact ventures within the Latino community.
