Collective Reading w/ Gothic Baba’s Book Club (Session #6)
Gothic Baba's Book Club is a horror literary book club where we read novels and short stories out loud to one another under candlelight, drink tea, and carry on the tradition of IRL storytelling. You don’t have to read ahead because we’ll be doing this collective reading style, so just bring a copy of your book (we’ll be starting with Shirley Jackson’s ‘The Haunting Of Hill House). If you’re not in the mood to read aloud, don’t worry—feel free to bring a craft and lose yourself in the moody, immersive atmosphere as you listen along.
About Gothic Baba's Book Club
Gothic Baba's Book Club is hosted by local artist Angelica Tsvetkov aka "Gothic Baba" whose art practice centers around exploring a rich tapestry of influences from the darkness of the southern gothic genre and slavic folklore to the softness and radiance of pastel granny core and USSR media. These worlds, full of contradictions and unexpected connections, have woven together to create the lens through which she grounds her research and art practice. This book club offers a space to explore how the past collides with the present, how historical and ideological forces shape our lives, and how we can honor and continue the sacred tradition of storytelling.
