About Event

We’re back with another community screening This time, we’re collaborating with Sunset Garden Ridgewood to host an evening screening of "Paris is Burning”

Documentary Description:

"Paris is Burning," a documentary by Jennie Livingston, chronicles the 1980s New York City ballroom culture against a backdrop of systemic marginalization. The film spotlights Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ community members navigating a world plagued by racism, homophobia, transphobia, and classism. It shows the resilience and defiance of these communities in creating spaces of liberation and community amidst violence and adversity.

The Details:

Join us for our first screening of pride month at Sunset Garden Ridgewood, located at the corner of Onderdonk Ave and Willoughby Ave. We'll kick off the evening with an open discussion @7pm, followed by the screening at 8 PM. There will be free snacks and beverages.

Entry is free for our Black and Brown siblings, with a $5 minimum donation for allies.

Donations:

All funds will go towards our upcoming Juneteenth BBQ and other future initiatives.

We are dedicated to maintaining safe space for ALL of our community. Any attempts to cause harm, disrupt, infiltrate or promote any form of bigotry will result in an immediate removal.
