About Event

Credit scores are a key part of financial well-being, yet many people are unclear on how they work and why they matter. This workshop will demystify credit scores, explain their impact, and provide strategies for building and maintaining strong credit health. Plus, learn how Woveo is reinventing the way we build credit scores.

Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will have a solid understanding of:

  • The components of a credit score and how they affect your financial health.

  • How lenders and institutions use credit scores in their decision-making.

  • Practical steps to improve and maintain a healthy credit score.

  • How Woveo's innovative approach to building credit scores is changing the landscape.

Guest Speaker:
We are honored to have Jean Paul Nyereka as our guest speaker. Jean Paul's journey is one of resilience and innovation. Over a 12-year period, Jean Paul rapidly advanced in the banking sector, receiving seven promotions while working with RBC and BMO. He also achieved his CPA designation, resourcefully paying for his exams with a credit card, a testament to his perseverance.

Perhaps most notably, Jean Paul is the creator of the Financial Wellness Score, an innovative alternative to traditional credit scores. This tool helps Canadians set priorities and take their first steps toward financial wellness. Today, Jean Paul works as a consultant, supporting small and medium-sized businesses as well as non-profits, addressing complex business challenges and promoting financial literacy.

Special Giveaway:
Attendees will also have a chance to win a special giveaway! To be eligible, participants must be a user on the Woveo platform.

This workshop is part two of our four-part community financial education series for November, presented in partnership with:

  • Black Founders Network

  • African Impact Initiative

  • Kscope

  • All Blk Market

  • Taibu Community Health Centre
