About Event

Society has developed to become hugely individualistic. We all are fostered to build our individual resilience and autonomy. Yet, mental health issues rise from loneliness and societal pressure. Even the strategies to overcome hardship are primarily individually focused.

As yoga practitioners, we know there is another path. The dualistic approach separating me from you is an illusion. We are all one, all the same but different. We all come from the same source. Research tells us that nothing is more important for our health, both mental and physical, than the quality of our close relationships. In combination with a sound approach to food, physical practice and mental practice, we have a recipe for health and wellbeing.

If the recipe is so easy, why are so many unwell? Because we lean on individual incentive and willpower to follow the recipe, which apparently is really difficult. What is fairly easy when you are part of a tight group or tribe, becomes difficult when you are alone.

At Svartlöga yoga retreat we try to build our wellness and resilience based on these insights. The tribe comes first: when we are part of a nurturing tribe of loving people, the rest becomes easy. At Svartlöga, the retreat is designed for everyone to lean into the experience as an active co-creator. That is how we rapidly build and strengthen the tribe. We do everything together, and the leadership rotates depending on the exercise or content. The tribe is the core and we want it to be so strong that it continues to live after the retreat.

When we cook together, meditate together, do yoga together we come close and the heart-opening practices invite vulnerability and openness. That is how stronger bonds are created.

In the blissful environment in the outer archipelago, on an island surrounded by the sea, it is evident how dependent we are both on each other and on our environment.

Everyone is welcome to apply. The group and the program is curated to fit nicely together and provide inspiration for all, while honoring diversity and wholeness. The cost for accommodation, all food and the full program is 3300 SEK through Swish.
