Abstract:
This work contributes to the growing exploration of efficient alternatives to large language models, offering a practical solution beyond resource-intensive, prompt-based models like ChatGPT. This talk explores how SetFit from Hugging Face—a lightweight, prompt-free approach—can be applied in both academic and startup contexts. I'll share two breakthrough SetFit applications: supervising HSLU students who created a viral custom model (6,000+ HuggingFace downloads) and pioneering the first startup production deployment at Witty Works for inclusive language detection.
