About Event

​AAL MICS (AI Accelerator Lab presents Major Innovative Constructive Showcase) is a recurring, interactive showcase that spotlights breakthrough work from founders and innovators in AI and adjacent creative fields. Each session is designed to foster exposure, meaningful connections, and knowledge-sharing, driving both individual growth and collective advancement in the APAC innovation ecosystem.

​Our Guest: James Gachanja

​James Gachanja is a registered and licensed practicing physical planner with 19 years of working experience in the public and private sector. He holds a Master of Science in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation for Urban Planning and Management from the University of Twente- Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC). He specialises in integrated land use and transport planning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Spatial Decision Support Systems (SPDSS), and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI). James is a PhD candidate at the University of Hong Kong, researching Smart Cities and Urban Analytics. His research explores the relationship between the built environment and people’s well-being. James leads the design thinking team at home.mtaawetu.com, focused on using science and AI to improve people's well-being. He is also affiliated with AAL Innovations, an AI startup in the Architecture Engineering and Construction industry in Hong Kong.
