Webinar - Women Journalists In Exile: Navigating Work and Life in Canada, Afghanistan and Around the Globe
Journalists for Human Rights is pleased to welcome you to our webinar discussion on the topic of “Women Journalists in Exile – Navigating Work and Life in Canada.”
Around the globe, press freedoms are eroding and attacks on journalists are intensifying. Women journalists remain at a disproportionately greater risk of intimidation, harassment, imprisonment, and murder. Those who flee out of fear for their lives confront numerous personal and professional challenges in a new country - resettlement and refugee life, trauma and PTSD, career disruption and barriers to employment, to name just a few.
The goal of this virtual panel is to provide a forum for exiled women journalists and media workers to discuss the challenges they face in Afghanistan, Canada and around the globe and what the future holds for them.
This panel is organized by Journalists for Human Rights for the “Afghan Journalists-in-Residence” Project with support from the Meta Journalism Project.
