โ€‹ABOUT THE SERIES

โ€‹When people think about sea creatures, there is the presence of adorable species like sea turtles, and then there are the apex predators such as sharks.

โ€‹Sharks already have the reputation as terrifying creatures from the deep, with nearly no other creature to be enough of a threat to them and thousands of their teeth. However, PBI recognizes the importance of sharks as they have a vital role as indicators of ocean health and as protectors of marine biodiversity.

โ€‹The oceans hold the world's best-kept secrets, with so much more of it left unexplored. Nevertheless, with the looming threat of climate emergencies that affects marine biodiversity, these unexplored parts of the deep blue might not survive. In PBI's Sea Sessions: The Mighty Shark, we aim to discuss their roles not just as beasts lurking in the water, but as important members of the ecosystem and protectors of marine life. With the help of experts in the field, we hope to clear shark reputation, discuss their environmental impact and safety by the numbers, and everything in between.
