An evening to discuss the State of Art in AI Research and what you can expect in the coming months. We have two speakers -

  • Ramakrishna Vedantam is a visiting researcher at the NYU Center for Data Science. He completed his PhD at Georgia Tech and was a AI research scientist at Facebook. He has authored several seminal work in multimodal models, computer vision, and theoretically motivated algorithms for learning, with his papers accruing over 20,000 citations.

  • Ameet Deshpande is a PhD student specializing in NLP at Princeton University. He previously completed his undergrad at IIT Madras where worked on improving RL and NLP algorithms for embodied agents. He is currently interested in improving the data-efficiency of AI systems, both practically and theoretically. His research has been featured in several mainstream media outlets.

We will have 2 informal talks (no ppts) of 30 mins each (15 min for speaking and 15 min for Q&A). The last 30 mins are for informal chatting and networking.
