​​On May 17th, 18th and 25th 2024, the Careerin Tech Society is powering a Startup Weekend for anyone across Vancouver who is interested in building a startup in 2024. 

​​Learn how to think, work, and build like a startup in 54 thrilling hours. Techstars Startup Weekend Vancouver is an exciting and immersive foray into the world of startups.

​​Over an action-packed three days, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors to show you how to get more done faster -- and, maybe even start that business.

You can come with an idea (it should be something that isn’t already an up and running business) and an existing team, or just bring yourself! If you don’t have an idea that’s fine - you’ll hear pitches from people on Friday night and have the opportunity to join someone else and work on the idea they present. 

​​Technical skills, programming skills, or business skills are not a requirement. You will form teams with other participants with different skill sets.


Day 1 (May 17th Friday 6:30pm to 9:30pm) - Meet, pitch, and form teams. 

​​Day 2 (May 18th Saturday 9am to 9pm) - Build a minimum viable product and receive mentorship from local industry experts.

​​Day 3 (May 25th Saturaday 9am to 6pm)- Complete work, give final pitch presentations, network, and celebrate! 

​​Our goal with Startup Weekend Vancouver is to create an inclusive environment where passionate, driven, and like-minded people can come together to get things done — to learn, network, bridge the gap in entrepreneurship, expose potential, and spark innovative ideas for startup creation.

​​If you’re very concerned, you can limit your pitch to the rough outline of the idea without giving away key information.

​​As a member of your startup community, you agree to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. You agree to act professionally, treat everyone with respect, and treat the event facilities with proper care.

​​You agree that you are responsible in the event of any accidents or damages that you cause. You also agree to not hold Techstars Startup Weekend, your local volunteer team, or any of the event supporters liable for any loss, damage, injury, or any other unforeseeable incident.

​​By participating in the event, you grant Techstars permission to capture photos/videos of the event and use them for marketing purposes, so we can continue to offer amazing Techstars Startup Weekends around the world.
