About Event

Join us as we welcome Christopher Culp (he/him) for "Sex Positivity in Daily Conversation" on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 7:00 - 9:00PM EST via zoom.

A recording will be made available to everyone who registers for 14 days following the workshop.

About the workshop: The stigma around sexuality runs deep in many cultures. A response to this stigma is the notion of sex positivity. While this is often used in sexual health and education spaces, we know that the stigma of sexuality permeates throughout a culture and into everyday activities. In this workshop, we will identify ways that stigma shows up in ubiquitous, everyday conversation and then create and practice ways to intervene in those situations, aiming to erase stigma and further ease discussions around sexuality.

By the end of the workshop participants will:

  • identify everyday occurrences of sexuality stigmatization.

  • create methods to resist/correct such stigmatizing instances in everyday conversations.

  • practice the delivery of such methods to gain comfort in interrupting sexuality stigmatization.

This workshop is expected to run between 90 - 120 minutes.

Accessibility Info:

Closed captions will be provided through Zoom.
