About Event

Join us as we welcome Ashley Robertson (She/Her) for Shame-free potty training (and early Sex Ed) on Thursday, November 4th at 8:00 PM EST over Zoom!

This workshop will be recorded and will be made available for a limited time to everyone who registers.

What does readiness mean? How can I be respectful of my child and hold consistent expectations? How can I teach consent and require my child to sit on the potty? How do I avoid shame for accidents? What are the actual skills I need to teach?

Join parent educator and childcare expert Ashley Robertson as she sheds light on this developmental milestone and ways to create foundational trust and respect during this transition.

Through this workshop, participants will be able to:
List signs of readiness for potty training;
List ways their individual style of parenting/child-rearing could effect potty training;
Explain all the parts of consent;
Explain the roles of consistency and using simple language during this milestone; and
Feel empowered to guide their child through potty training as the expert

About Ashley Robertson
Ashley's parenting philosophies closely resemble that of a monster cookie. Never had a monster cookie? Well… there's a little bit of everything in there blended together for a bite of perfection! Chocolate chips? Yep. M&Ms? Opa! Oatmeal and peanut butter? You bet. Can you believe some recipes even include salty potato chips? Similarly, Ashley borrows the best of Montessori practices, Reggio-learning through invitation, traditional behavior modification strategies, and a healthy dose of gentle parenting consent-based practices. With three degrees in education and 15 years as an educator/childminder, she understands the ins and outs of scaffolding and how kids learn by layering skills. Best of all, she prioritizes the foundation. Respectful parenting means also respecting the parent's needs, wants, and personal limitations.
