About Event

Join us as we welcome Lilah Rose (she/her) for Elements of BDSM and Fetishism on Wednesday, April 26th at 7:30pm EST over Zoom!

This workshop will be recorded and will be made available to everyone who registers for 7 days following the workshop.

About the workshop: Whips and chains and….pie fights? Oh my! The glimpses of BDSM we get through pop culture are often tantalizing but show a very narrow, and usually biased or unrealistic view of what the world of kink has to offer. In life, leather, latex, floggers, intense roleplay, and harsh dom/mes exist alongside giggle-filled body-painting, sensual massage, cute socks, nurturing care-giving, and yes, even food fights. Regardless of how “soft”, “hard”, common, or unusual different kinks may be, at heart they share understandable and relatable elements. Let’s spend an evening exploring the reality of all the different ways and reasons people explore sexuality, sensuality, spirituality, intimacy, and playfulness. Additionally we will touch on ethics, consent, safety, and the lines between fantasy and reality.

By the end of this workshop you will:

  • Be introduced to a wide range of fetish activities, modalities, and dynamics and the underlying motivation and desires that they are built on.

  • Understand that the depiction of BDSM and fetishism through media, including porn, rarely reflects reality; and will be able to identify the elements that shape real-life, safety and consent focused BDSM practices.

  • Have a chance to explore your own motivations and desires and recognize their validity and value.

This workshop is expected to run between 90 and 120 minutes.

Closed captions will be provided through Zoom.
