Beyond Condoms: A Holistic & Inclusive Safer Sex Workshop with Lena Peak
Join us as we welcome Lena Peak (she/they) for Beyond Condoms: A Holistic & Inclusive Safer Sex Workshop on Wednesday, January 11th at 7:30 pm EST over Zoom!
This workshop will be recorded and will be made available to everyone who registers for 7 days following the workshop.
About the workshop: By providing a risk analysis framework, reviewing holistic and inclusive safer sex practices, and deconstructing STI stigma, this interactive workshop aims to empower participants to advocate for safer sex practices and make choices in alignment with their risk comfort levels in their own lives.
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
List at least 3 ways to practice safer sex
Assess your comfort levels and feelings associated with sexual risk
Reflect on at least 2 feelings associated with stigma
Introduce at least 1 safer-sex practice in your personal relationships
This workshop is expected to run between 90 and 120 minutes.

About Lena Peak:
Lena (she/they) is a queer-identified social worker and sexuality educator dedicated to cultivating empowering and transformative educational spaces that inspire meaningful community, intellectual risk-taking, and radical dreaming. Her work focuses on members of queer and disabled communities, and those at the intersection of those identities.
Lena has formal education and training in designing and implementing inclusive sexuality education interventions that address pleasure, power, protection, and intimacy. Lena currently works as an educator for The Expansive Group (more popularly known as @queersextherapy on Instagram), a diverse collective of sexuality professionals creating queer-centered, pleasure-positive, anti-oppressive educational content for online dissemination to a global audience.
Lena earned her Master of Social Work degree from the Brown School, Washington University in St. Louis.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale ($3-$50) to ensure folx of varying economic backgrounds are able to access the sex education they deserve. We ask those who have the financial means to help "spread the wealth" by contributing to the community pool so that we can offer a limited number of sponsored free tickets to those who need it.
We kindly ask that those who have the financial means to purchase a ticket do so, and save our sponsored free tickets to those who do not.

Unless otherwise specified, all workshops are recorded and access to the recording is made available for 7 days following the workshop to everyone who registered prior to the workshop start time. We do not offer refunds to those who were unable to attend or watch the recording within the allotted time.
In the event SHIP and/or the Educator(s) need to change the date of the workshop, we will automatically transfer your registration once the workshop has been rescheduled. If the workshop is cancelled outright, we will contact you with the option to have your registration fee refunded, transferred to another workshop, or treated as a tax-deductible donation.
