We will be discussing the homeschooling environment for young athletes and how global communities like Galileo support English language learning and how self directed learning is growing in Taiwan

Jenny has been a homeschooling mom for 8 years. She currently is a EdD student at Northeastern University working on her dissertation titled “The Experience of Homeschooled High School Graduates Transitioning to College in Taiwan.” With a computer science background, she is in tuned with how to utilize technology to aid and augment educating her children. Besides being a homeschooling mom, she works as an English consultant to businesses and teacher to school-age children. She will be sharing how homeschooling has blossomed in Taiwan and how self-directed learning has becoming a key factor in homeschooling.

Ella is a 11th grade homeschooler who has been homeschooled since 3rd grade. She is an artistic roller-skating athlete and enjoys painting, performing, and designing/making skating outfits. Prior to joining Galileo, she already utilized many online resources including taking pre-college courses and other readily available platforms. She enjoys many Galileo courses including clubs, bootcamps, and nano courses. She will be sharing her self-directed learning experience including her time in Galileo.
