About Event

Have you ever heard the expression “It takes a village to raise a child”?

When it comes to education, it couldn’t be more true. When your kids embark on a journey of self-directed learning, they have the opportunity to draw on the knowledge and expertise of anyone and everyone around them. One of the best parts of a self-directed education is that each child’s experience will be totally unique and tailored to their needs.

As wonderful, enlightening and empowering as this experience can be, it’s equally challenging and difficult at times. However, that’s where the power of community comes in.

At Galileo, we are joined by families from all around the world who have chosen to home educate their children for a number of reasons. For some, it’s to suit a nomadic lifestyle or to break the status quo. For others, they’re fed up with the traditional schooling system and want to do more for their children.

But at the end of the day, they all have this shared, self-directed learning experience in common.

So, who better to hear from than those who have been there, done that!

At our next InspirEd by Galileo event, we will be joined by Galileo dads, Ken Weary, Gerry Kirk, Nathan Day, Daniel Prince and Vlad Stan. They’ll dive into their first hand experiences as parents of self-directed learners and share the ups, the downs and everything in between that they’ve learnt along the way.
