About Event

Join Women and Climate’s Seattle Chapter for a tour of Recompose, the world's first full-service body composting funeral home! Recompose utilizes the principles of nature to return bodies to the land, sequestering carbon and improving the health of our natural surroundings.

Human composting has been legal in Washington since 2019 and is now legal in 7 other US states. In this tour, we’ll see Recompose’s ceremony and community spaces, as well as a portion of the Greenhouse, where composting takes place. During the walk-through, we’ll learn about the end-to-end human composting process and the associated environmental benefits, as well as the origins of Recompose itself. The tour concludes with a seated Q&A session.
