Tour: Recology San Francisco

​Interested in learning how we prioritize resource recovery in San Francisco? Join us on a tour of our recycling facilities, our Artist in Residence studios, and more to witness how we try to keep materials in circulation and out of the landfill! 

​Schedule: 

• ​9:30am: Classroom presentation at 401 Tunnel 

• ​10:30am: Transfer Station Tour: 

  • ​Artist in Residence Program Studio 

  • ​Transfer Station 

  • ​Public Reuse and Recycling Area 

• ​11:20am: Provided bus from 401 Tunnel to Recycle Central at Pier 96 

• ​11:30am: Recycle Central Tour 

• ​12:00pm: Provided bus from Pier 96 to 401 Tunnel 

• ​12:15pm: Tour end 

​Tour Requirements: 

• ​Guests must sign a release of liability form prior to arrival. Anyone 9-18 years of age must have a waiver signed by their legal parent or guardian, and children under nine years of age are not allowed on tours. 

• ​Attendees must wear closed-toe, comfortable walking shoes (no sandals). 

• ​Recology-provided safety equipment (including hard hats, vests, and safety glasses) must be worn at all times. 

​Please note: 

• ​Tours include long stretches of walking, several flights of stairs, and uneven surfaces and hills. 

• ​Certain areas of the facility may be extremely slippery. 

• ​Tours involve loud noises, strong smells, and dust. 

• ​Tours take approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete. At minimum, visitors must be able to complete the entire two-hour tour of the Transfer Station. 

• ​Ample street parking is available at the Transfer Station. Please do not park in employee lots. 

• ​Tours will be canceled in the event of rain.
