About Event

Does your Quaker meeting have a pile or boxes of old meeting minutes and records?

For some Meetings, the preparation and submission of records to an archive is a long-held practice, for others an administrative task that may get lost overtime or was never truly established.

This 3-hour workshop is an opportunity for meeting representatives to learn both from the NEYM Outreach archivist, Elise Riley, as well as from others participating in the workshop.

Topics to be addressed:

-Why are records important to keep

-Questions about what documents, pictures, etc. can and should be submitted to the Archives

-Procedures for submitting materials (releases, etc.)

-How to ask for help or where to find information about how to submit material

-Practices meetings have for managing records (minutes, membership records, etc.)

-Access to records once sent to the Archives

This workshop is pay-as-led with a suggested fee of $10. You may enter any amount when you register (to pay nothing, enter "0" or use the coupon code FREE).

Are you from a Yearly Meeting other than New England and wondering if this workshop is for you? You are welcome to attend if led, but please note than a significant portion of this content is specific to NEYM's archives and processes.
