About Event

Jenny Terbell will lead the sangha in a half-day of practice focused on Tonglen and breathwork.

There are many good reasons why our hearts close. Experiencing suffering, as we all do, can cause us to constrict, to shorten our breath, to tighten our ribcage, to protect our hearts. Most of this happens inside of us involuntarily in the face of life's heartbreaks. And if this weren't enough, the demands of modern life can keep us moving so quickly that our breathing becomes encumbered, which then encumbers our mind. So what are we to do?

The Tibetan Buddhist practice of Tonglen is an ancient and beautiful method that uses the breath to transform suffering on the path, our own and others. This skillful method can be adapted to any situation and practiced on the spot. And it's very powerful to do in community. Join us in a half day of practice where we will explore together the power of our breath and our bodhicitta, that which connects us all. Everyone welcome, new and experienced practitioners alike.

Suggested donation: $20-$40
