PlantHack 2025 is a 2 day hackathon powered by the Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA), that aims to secure a more resilient and diverse food system by unlocking the potential of underutilised and overlooked crops.
Whether you are interested in blue-sky thinking OR the application of cutting edge AI, there is a place for you! We offer two tracks:
Blue Sky Concept Track - Got a BIG idea that could transform food and farming? We invite you to pitch a technology, venture, research direction, or creative solution that helps unlock the power of underutilised crops.
AI Track - tackle real world computational challenges using genomic foundation models like Evo2 & Helix-mRNA to discover stress-resilience traits, fill data gaps, or prototype computational tools for crop improvement.
Applications are open to all! No Plant Sciences experience required - this is event is about breaking down barriers between scientific and computational disciplines.
You DO NOT need a team or a track to apply! The week before PlantHack, we offer selected applicants the opportunity to form teams and choose their tracks after an online mixer.
