Line Up: Mat.Joe
There are few things sweeter than a bowl of ice cream, but Berlin house duo Mat.Joe have emulated a sound and style every bit as delectable. Matze and Johannes are two young men with a Hip Hop and House affection based in Berlin.
Originally from Hannover, they moved to Berlin for new artistic challenges and after MySpace, mixtapes and candy, Mat.Joe found their own style: crispy Housebeats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip Hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough.
Established as one of the biggest acts in the German house music scene, they've made tracks with some of the most influential names in electronic music including DIPLO, CamelPhat, Hayden James, Riva Starr, and Shermanology to name a few. In the process, they have released tracks on the biggest labels in the electronic music world including Armin Van Buuren’s Armada Music, Claude Von Strokes’ Dirtybird Records, Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records, Defected Records and more.

The Venue: Yoyo - Palais de Tokyo
Tucked under the west wing of the Palais de Tokyo, this offbeat underground club has got all of Paris dancing within its stripped-down concrete walls. Located in an old "art déco" cinema in the basement of the museum, this new space welcomes live music and clubbing nights several times a month with high level artists.
Access to the Yoyo is impressive. First, you have to cross the Palais de Tokyo’s immaculate and monumental Art Deco colonnade, then walk down a black corridor decorated with graffiti by Lek, Sowat and other street artists – a striking contrast sought out by the organisers.
Alongside a state-of-the-art sound system, a vast screen displaying supersize videos immerses visitors even more deeply into the party atmosphere. It's no surprise Yoyo has established itself as one of Paris' top clubs.
