About Event

Explore the true purpose of mindfulness beyond the myths—gain practical tools, peer practice, and skills to respond to life with intention at this Mindful Monday session.

If you've ever been told that the purpose of mindfulness is to relax or clear your mind, then you too have been subjected to some very unhelpful myths about what this practice is really about.

Originating from a Zen Buddhist tradition, mindfulness is actually a behavioral practice that happens both on and off the meditation cushion. Mindfulness aims to provide us with the tools we need to experience life in the present moment (however comfortable or uncomfortable it may be), and learn to respond to reality as it is with intention, skill, and purpose.

This Mindful Monday will provide you with psychoeducation about mindfulness as a behavior, opportunities to practice mindfulness with your peers, and allow you to leave with practical skills that you can use in everyday life.
