Meet Lucas: Before Haveli, Dr Lucas Joppa was Microsoft’s first Chief Environmental Scientist and then first Chief Environmental Officer, where he was responsible for Microsoft's overall environmental sustainability vision, strategy, and program execution. He has a background in both environmental science and data science and is recognised for his work in sustainability, appearing on Fortune’s “40 Under 40” list. He is an Associate Editor in Chief for the Ecological Society of America’s EcoSphere journal and an honorary Fellow at the UN Environment Program World Conservation Monitoring Center. Lucas earned a PhD in ecology from Duke University in 2009.
