A highlight of the evening, this panel discussion will delve into the intersection of technology, business, and identity. The esteemed panelists below will share insights on how these domains intertwine and influence each other, particularly in the context of the Asian-American experience in technology and innovation.
Eric Shih, Chief Operating Officer, Cedara
Eric joined Cedara, the Carbon Intelligence Platform, in 2023 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer. As part of the executive leadership team, Eric is responsible for leading sales, marketing, strategic and operational initiatives that will further support and accelerate Cedara’s growth. Eric also serves on the Board of Directors for ShowHeroes, a leading global digital video monetization platform.
Eric has more than 20 years of digital media leadership, business development, monetization, and strategy experience. Prior to joining Cedara, Eric served as Chief Growth Officer at the healthcare marketing operating system, Lasso (which was acquired by IQVIA), and formerly as Chief Supply Officer on the global leadership team at Teads, one of the largest global ad technology platforms. He had previously held digital media positions at Scripps Networks (now Discovery Communications), A&E Networks and Fuse.
Eric holds a B.A. in both Economics and Psychology from Georgetown University, and an M.A. in Music Business from New York University.
Dennis Yao Yu, Chief Executive Officer, The Other Group
Dennis Yao Yu is a revenue executive in the technology industry with over 15 years of experience creating innovative business strategies, overseeing growth functions, and build teams for companies ranging from startups to multinational corporations.
He is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of The Other Group which provides fractional executive consulting and advisory services to VC-backed startups that need Go To Market leadership assistance. Prior to The Other Group, he led Customer Success at Shopify, was the Chair of Shopify’s Asian ERG, and facilitator of a leadership development program for underrepresented communities called Leading While X. He continues to work with AAPI communities and organizations at various levels to advocate and uplift.
Dennis holds a B.A. in Economics from UC Irvine, and a MBA from USC.
Jia Hyun, VP Marketing Solutions, LinkedIn
Jia Hyun is a global marketing and digital strategy executive with a 20+ year record of driving marketing innovation to generate double-digit revenue growth for firms, including LinkedIn, GE Capital, Citigroup, American Express, and MasterCard International. She is a strategic leader who’s created and led digital transformation initiatives, built ecommerce capabilities, and orchestrated integrated marketing teams, programs, and data strategies across multinational marketing organizations.
As Vice President, Strategic Accounts for LinkedIn, Jia currently leads the Global Sales and Client services teams across LinkedIn Marketing Solutions’ largest, most strategic relationships. Jia holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Information Systems from New York University. She lives in New York with her husband, 2 boys, and a Jack Russell. She is an enthusiastic amateur pickle artisan and prolific home cook who balances her love of eating with outdoor adventure, singing, and dancing.
Karen Chi, Founder, Karen Chi Consulting (Moderator)
Karen Chi is a people- and customer-obsessed tech executive, having spent the last 15 years building and scaling multiple B2B businesses at world-class, hypergrowth companies.
She is currently the founder of Karen Chi Consulting, a go-to-market advisory partner to early stage B2B startups. Most recently, she led the B2B Sales and Talent Partnerships organizations at Cameo, a Series C creator marketplace. Previously, she led sales organizations for LinkedIn’s digital advertising and SaaS businesses. She also served as a leader and founding member of LinkedIn's Women's Initiative, a program geared towards increasing gender diversity in senior leadership roles in LinkedIn's global sales organization.
Karen holds a B.A. in Legal Studies from UC Berkeley.
