Please join us for an eight-week study group, led by Jennifer Hogue (NEYM) and Benjamin Warnke (NYYM), in which we'll be reading and discussing Our Life Is Love by Marcelle Martin.  In her book, Marcelle identifies ten elements of the Quaker spiritual journey and illustrates each of them with stories from both early Quakers and contemporary Friends.  For those new to Quakerism, “Quaker-adjacent” folks, and even seasoned Friends, there is much to learn on these pages about what it is like to “cooperate more fully with the movement of the Spirit that wants to transform the human race now.”   Jennifer and Benjamin have both found this book to be essential in their own spiritual development and look forward to joining with others who want to savor the text, explore the queries that follow each section, and share the ways that our lives are moving along this “deepening path.”  Each week, after reading one or two of the chapters, we’ll meet for worship, pair sharing, and large group sharing.  Marcelle will join us for two of our sessions.

The study group will meet on Zoom for eight consecutive Sunday evenings, from 7:00 - 8:15 pm EST, beginning on February 6 and ending March 27.  Group size is limited, so register early. The suggested fee is $40. The proceeds from this series will help provide scholarships funds for the 2022 offering of the Nurturing Faithfulness Program.  For those interested in participating in Nurturing Faithfulness, this study group can serve as an “on-ramp.”

If you are not sure whether this group is for you, or if you want to learn even more about Our Life Is Love, please register for a free introductory webinar on the Quaker Spiritual Journey (link) led by Marcelle Martin on Sunday, January 30 from 7-9. Marcelle will give an overview of the ten elements of the Quaker spiritual journey and tell stories from her own experience as well as her study of early and contemporary Friends. And you’ll have a chance to meet Benjamin and Jennifer.

Benjamin is a member of Brooklyn Meeting and a past participant in the Nurturing Faithfulness program.

Jennifer is a member of Friends Meeting at Cambridge and a past participant and associate of the Nurturing Faithfulness program.
