Agents: LangChain vs. Open AI Assistants
Agentic apps are all the rage these days as Large Language Model (LLM) applications become more complex and connected to external tools and sources of knowledge. This has been the primary focus of LangChain since its birthdate just over a year ago; that is, to enable data- and context-aware applications that can reason. Chain-of-Thought “Reasoning” for LLM applications is combined with Action steps executed by agents (e.g., ReAct framework).
OpenAI’s recently released Assistants API streamlines the development of agent-like applications (e.g., assistants) that can connect with up to three tools: Code Interpreter, Retrieval, and Function calling.
In this event, we’ll overview the LangChain framework, connecting it to OpenAI’s “new stack for ops and AI,” before we learn about agents, ReAct, and how to build complex LLM applications using both LangChain and the OpenAI Assistants API.
All demo code will be available for you to build, ship, and share with, as always!
Who should attend the event?
LLM Operations practitioners who want to understand “the new stack for ops and AI”
Aspiring AI Engineers how to use LangChain to build complex LLM applications.
Builders who want to use the OpenAI Assistants API to build agent-like systems beyond RAG.
