​Welcome to Beginners Handbuilding — a 6-week deep-dive into the timeless joy of clay play. This course is perfect for absolute beginners and curious returners who want to explore the world of ceramics beyond the wheel.

​In this heart-centred, hands-on course, you’ll be guided step-by-step to craft your very own collection of handmade objects — each infused with your energy, your creativity, and your story.

• ​Start Date: Tuesday 15th July 2025

• ​End Date: Tuesday 22nd August 2025

• ​Time: 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

• ​Duration: 6 weeks

• ​Tutor: Tyla, your clay confidante and handbuilding queen 👑

​🌀 Pinching Techniques

​From pint pots to nesting bowls, hand-pinched vases to little candle holders — this is tactile meditation and creativity in motion.

​🧱 Slab-Building Magic

​Roll out your ideas and shape them into mugs, planters, and sculptural vessels using timeless slab techniques.

​🐍 Coil-Building Wizardry

​Discover the ancient technique of coiling — playful, meditative, and deeply satisfying.

​💫 The Finishing Touches

​After bisque firing, you’ll sand, refine, and prep your creations for their final glow-up.

​🎨 Glazing Rituals

​Choose from a luscious spectrum of glazes and transform your earthy forms into ceramic gems.

​🎉 Final Celebration

​On the last night, we’ll gather with snacks and sparkles to celebrate your creations and the community you’ve co-created. Joy, laughter, and proud showing-off encouraged 🥂

​Booking Confirmation

​By booking a class or workshop with Karla Marie Ceramics, you agree to the following terms and conditions. All bookings are final and non-refundable, with exceptions as outlined below.

​🌀 Transfers

​We offer transfers (not refunds) under the following conditions:

• ​You request the transfer at least 1 week before the course start date or we are able to fill your spot.

• ​A $75 transfer fee applies

• ​Transfers must be for a class of equal or lesser value (price differences may apply for upgrades)

• ​One transfer only per booking

​💸 Refunds

​Only considered if:

• ​Requested at least 2 weeks prior to the start date

• ​or if we are able to fill your spot

  • ​If eligible, your refund will be minus:

• ​A 10% platform fee, and

• ​A $75 admin fee

​🧩 Make-Up Lessons

• ​Limited availability only

• ​Cost: $85 per hour

• ​Once scheduled, make-up classes are non-transferable

​If Karla Marie Ceramics needs to cancel or reschedule your class, you will receive the option to transfer or a full refund.
