Introducing ImpactHack, a policy, engineering, and software competition that enables students to revolutionize urban solutions!
No technical background is necessary.
ImpactHack will take place from November 10-12 virtually, and in-person at the Instructional Center at Georgia Tech.
participant solutions seek to address the Sustainable Development Goals curated by the United Nations as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

Registration deadlines
spots are limited for in-person participation. apply asap!
priority deadline = sunday, oct. 29
regular deadline (in-person) = fri, nov. 3
virtual deadline = wed, nov. 8
Weekend breakdown:
friday: opening ceremony
saturday: 2PM-6PM optional programming
sunday: morning closing
Submission types:
Teams will be made up of 1-4 members and each track will have 3 accepted submission types:
Technology: A 1-2 minute video submission demoing their prototype, whether it be computer science or engineering, that creates a solution aligned with the SDGs.
Policy: A 3-5 page policy paper outlining the current state of policy and recommendations, instruments, and tools to solve the problem space.
Interdisciplinary: A 1-2 minute video submission of your technology solution plus a 1-2 page policy paper outlining the policy surrounding your problem space and solution
in partnership with Georgia Tech School of Public Policy and Georgia Tech Sustainable X, ImpactHack is hosted by Startup Exchange.
Submission Tracks:
Track 1: Equitable Communities Challenge:
Develop solutions to build inclusive, just, and peaceful communities that provide economic security and equal opportunity for all.
SDG Goals: SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
Track 2: Healthy People and Planet Challenge:
Design innovative approaches to protect the environment, address climate change, and provide sustainable solutions for clean water, food security, healthcare, and human well-being.
SDG Goals: SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
Track 3: Quality Education and Economic Growth Challenge:
Develop strategies to expand access to quality education and promote decent work, economic growth, and industrial innovation.
SDG Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
