Next October was established by Hilla and Izhar Shay, proud bereaved parents of IDF hero Yaron Oree Shay Z"L, who fell in battle while protecting hundreds of civilians on October 7th, will tell the story of Yaron's heroic battle, their decision to turn grief into positive action, and the Next October initiative.
The initiative aims to help launch over 1,800 new Israeli startups (already 350)- one for each Israeli life lost during the war. Next October's volunteers connect entrepreneurs with bereaved families, helping them create commemoration initiatives that reflect each fallen individual's unique legacy. Additionally, the initiative contributes to the growth of these startups by facilitating connections with investors, mentors, and unique benefits, thereby widening the circle of remembrance and strengthening Israel's economy and resilience post the October 7th tragedy.
