Themes will include investing in your existing staff, building a cybersecurity culture, working with other teams both inside and outside the IT department, what to do when things go wrong, and how to ensure your success.

So, you've been breached!

  • Randy Purse, CD, PhD, CTDP, Senior Advisor, Cybersecurity Training and Education, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst at Toronto Metropolitan University

We like to pretend it won't happen, or at least not to us, but cyber attacks are a reality in the internet connected world. While, in our increasingly digital world there are many ways that your organization may be at risk, perhaps one of the most disconcerting and damaging is a cyber breach. This is where your critical data - client, employee, financial, or operational - may be ransomed, stolen, manipulated, or destroyed. The impacts can be far ranging from operational disruptions to civil litigation to actual long-term financial harm to you, your employees and your clients.

The good news is there are some simple steps you and your organization can take to be better prepared for a cyber attack and minimize these risks. This is intended for senior leaders, administrators and others in non-technical roles and will walk you through a virtual table-top exercise that will highlight what you need to consider before, during, and after a cyber breach to help you be better prepared.
