Get Active Happy Hour: Voter Turnout Letter Writing
Looking for an easy way to get politically active in your community and meet people at the same time?
Writing letters to voters is one of the most effective ways to help increase election turnout, and doing it alongside friendly people with snacks and drinks makes it fun!
Join the DGS Philly community for a night of easy (and social) activism by writing simple heartfelt handwritten letters to unregistered and low-propensity voters encouraging them to participate in our democracy.
This event is organized by your fellow Philadelphia citizens, all letter writing materials are paid for by community donations, and we use templates from an independent and non-partisan organization called https://votefwd.org. Participating couldn't be easier, and you don't have to contribute anything but your time and handwriting.
2022 is going to be a big year for Pennsylvania's general elections! Your participation really does make a difference.
Our next goal is 2500 letters, and our volunteers have written more than 1000 so far. Join in and help us keep going!
First time participants from all communities are welcome. We'll have a case of beer, snacks, and all the letter writing supplies you'll need at the Indy Hall Clubhouse (709 N 2nd St).
All you have to do is bring yourself, proof of boosted vaccination status, a kn95 mask*, and your willingness to do good shit!
*if you don't have a Kn95, we'll have extra
