Genki Ball Making
Join us for the Ala Wai Genki Ball Project's Genki Ball Making Event, a significant initiative hosted by the Eco Rotary Club of Kakaʻako, in collaboration with the Genki Ala Wai Project. This event marks the 3rd annual Genki Ala Wai Event, scheduled to take place on March 16th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Our mission is clear: to craft 5,000 Genki Balls as part of our ongoing efforts to restore the Ala Wai Canal and achieve our goal of making it swimmable and fishable by the year 2026. The Ala Wai Genki Ball Project stands as a testament to community-driven environmental stewardship and the power of collective action.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities, working together to create Genki Balls, innovative devices designed to remove debris and pollutants from our waterways. Through collaboration and dedication, we aim to make a tangible difference in our local ecosystem and pave the way for a cleaner, healthier environment for generations to come.
But our work doesn't end there! Following the Genki Ball Making Event, mark your calendars for the exciting tossing event on April 6th, 2024, also from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Ala Wai Neighborhood Park adjacent to Ala Wai Elementary School. This tossing event will symbolize our commitment to cleaner waterways and the realization of our vision for a revitalized Ala Wai Canal.
Come join us as we embark on this transformative journey towards environmental sustainability. Together, we can make a difference, one Genki Ball at a time.
