Season of Creation 2022 Prayer Service
Join us online or in person for a Zoom-based prayer service of sharing, gentle movement, and thoughtful reflection on Thursday 20 October, 6:00-7:00pm London / 1:00-2:00pm Eastern.
Each year, during September and October, the Christian family marks Creationtide – a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home.
Climate change is “an all-encompassing social crisis and moral emergency that impacts and interconnects every aspect” of the common good and of our lives as followers of Christ, “including health, poverty, employment, racism, social justice, and family life.” (General Convention, Episcopal Church USA)
This year, the theme for the season is “Listen to the Voice of Creation.”
Come pray with us; everyone is welcome!
See images of the spaces we live in - images which move us to lament and to hope
Share from your heart, through the screen, without words.
Discover how God is inviting us to become spect-ACTORS, not just spect-ators.
The service will include pictures of your own 'lived environment' (home, office, neighbourhood) which you can take and email to us.
During the service, we will pray, listen to hymns based on Scripture, and reflect on the images that we have collected, using simple physical movements and shared conversation.
(Folks who can't participate by Zoom can still participate through a synchronous, in-person, uplink at St Matthew's Bethnal Green church in East London, UK).
You will receive an email with information on how to join, and on how to contribute your photos, when you reserve your space.
Tickets are limited so that our experience can remain truly interactive.
