About Event

This March, in celebration of International Women’s Day, we're back with another insightful panel discussion, this time focusing on the importance of gender equity in climate solutions and the work being done to achieve it. Time is of essence, and the best solutions will be ones that consider diverse perspectives.

Join us on Monday March 24th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM for an evening that’s all about:

  • How leaders in the space are progressing women through their work

  • Supporting equity through actionable solutions around systemic change and proven concepts

  • Insights on what lies ahead for women in climate

Moderator: Sarah Clayton is a problem solver who’s honed her skills building out new roles, products and ventures in the B2B SaaS space. She’s currently refocusing her career to empower community and change through strategic projects that sit at the intersection of art and climate. In addition to events at Climate North, she’s helping to launch a climate communications podcast and international street art summit.

Panelists:

Michelle Li is a global thought leader focused on accelerating climate action. From Silicon Valley to Climate Champion, Michelle has built an international following through her climate projects, Clever Carbon and Women and Climate, and has spoken on prestigious global stages including SXSW, Bloomberg, COP28, TEDx, and more.

Zamani Ra is an international award winning environmental professional leading an innovative environmental education and engagement charity. She is the Founder and Executive Director of CEED Canada, a registered charity that amplifies environmental and climate action in Toronto’s housing communities with specific focus in the underrepresented areas. She is co-founder of the Black Environmentalist Alliance and a member of the City of Toronto’s Climate Advisory Group. In 2022 she was the overall winner in theWomen4ClimateTO. Zamani is a Goddess of Inspiration, Warrior of Words, Sharer of Voices, Creator of Curated Content, Builder of Communities, Paradigm Shape Shifter, and Promoter of People Power.

Tyler Hamilton is Senior Director of Climate at MaRS where he guides all climate-specific activities for ventures, corporate partners and investors, including the flagship Mission from MaRS program. He also co-founded the MaRS Women In Cleantech Challenge and subsequent RBC Women In Cleantech Accelerator run by MaRS. Previous to joining MaRS, Tyler spent two decades as a journalist and wrote extensively about Canada’s clean technology sector and global cleantech trends. A recipient of the Cleantech Group’s “Pioneer” award for his early writings on the sector, Tyler was also recognized in 2016 on Canada’s “Clean50” list for his thought leadership on clean energy and climate issues.
