About Event

Join us for our second Network Meet-up of 2022!

What is it?

This meetup is an informal and collaborative space bringing together anyone in the Catalyst network with an interest in digital, design, data, community and the social sector.

There will be opportunities to:

  • Connect with each other and share updates

  • Hear from other organisations working on tech for good projects

  • Learn from speakers, panellists, and from each other.

What's this month's theme?

This month we'll be focusing on the subject of Inclusive Tech - what do we mean by this in theory and how does it play out - or not - in practice? Despite countless Equality/ Equity, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and programmes, we are still clearly some way off from the reality of having Tech, Social and Civil Society sectors which reflect the diversity of the societies we live and work in. How do we move from merely paying lip service to our promises and move towards taking necessary action (and accountability) to make our ambitions a reality, ensuring our spaces and our work meaningfully includes people from all backgrounds, experiences and walks of life, not as tokens, but as essential to the core of our work?

We'll be taking a roundtable approach this month and Producer Siana will be in conversation with:

Zoe Amar - Digital expert and founder of digital agency and social enterprise Zoe Amar Digital

Shanice Blair - Community Manager at Agencies for Good

Nish Doshi - Community Manager at Data Collective and Data Kind UK

Tessa Cooper - Founder of Collaborative Future

As always, there will be space for group reflections and discussions. We’ll also have space to check-in on each other’s latest projects and to share your community shout-outs.

Who is it for?

This event is for everyone from funders, agencies, and charities, to social enterprises, network / infrastructure organisations, freelancers and anybody interested in helping charities and non-profits develop their digital capacity and work in more meaningfully inclusive ways, with diversity, equity, and inclusion at the heart of their approach to their work.
