About Event

The automotive sector is at a turning point and transforming as car manufacturers move towards becoming mobility service providers. Forecasters believe 33 million driverless vehicles will be on the road by 2040 and 55% of small businesses predict they will adopt self-driving car technologies. We are closer than in the past, but there are still many challenges facing AVs (Autonomous Vehicles).

About the Panel Speakers:

  1. Gautam Narang (https://www.linkedin.com/in/gautam2410/) is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gatik. Before co-founding Gatik, he was the CTO of OTSAW Digital, Co-Founder & CEO of Maverick Robotics & Co-founder & Team Leader of Team Gatik. Also, he has had research stints with CMU, CNRS in France, Honda Research Institute & Waseda University in Japan, Deltatron in Finland, and ROBOTIS in South Korea. He holds an MS. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon.

  2. ​Tudor Achim, (https://www.linkedin.com/in/tudorachim/) is the Co-Founder and CTO at Helm.ai. Before Helm.ai, he was a Ph.D. student in CS at Stanford and a Staff Software Engineer at Quora. He graduated with a BS in Computer Science & Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon in 2011.

  3. John Dolan, (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jmdolan2/) is a Principal Systems Scientist at the Argo AI Center for Autonomous Vehicle Research within the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon. During his career at Carnegie Mellon, he was also the Head of Telesupervised Autonomous Robots (TSAR) Lab and Behaviors thrust lead for GM Autonomous Driving Collaborative Research Lab. John was the Behaviors Lead of the 2007 DARPA Grand Challenge with the Tartan Racing Team from Carnegie Mellon. He received the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon in 1987 and 1991, respectively.

·      Tu Le, (https://www.linkedin.com/in/tu-t-le/) is the Founder and Managing Director of Sino Auto Insights and Co-Host of the "China EVs & More" podcast and a mentor for Mobility & Smart Cities at Plug and Play Tech Center and Chinaaccelerator. Previously, he was a Strategic Business Consultant for clients from the automotive, high-tech & e-Commerce sectors, the Vice President of Strategy and Business Planning for Yun Mall. He also had stints at Ford, Logitech, Apple, Lear Corporation & GM. He graduated with an MBA from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon in 2003.
