6:00pm - Doors Open + Meet & Greet

6:30pm - Intro from Climate North and Sponsors

6:50pm - Kelly Drennan, Founding Executive Director at Fashion Takes Action.

Kelly Drennan is a systems thinker, thought leader and disruptor devoted to making change within the fashion industry. In 2007 she founded Fashion Takes Action, out of her desire to create a better, more sustainable future for her, then, two young daughters. Her role at FTA is to remove the barriers to sustainability that exist for the entire fashion system – for those who make, sell, buy, wear, care, repair, reuse, collect, rent, resell and recycle clothes. In 2017, Kelly was the recipient of the prestigious Clean 50 award given to Canada’s climate leaders, where she was recognized for Education & Thought Leadership, and was the first recipient of the award for the fashion industry. In 2022 Kelly won the Sustainability Award given out by the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA).

7:15pm – Amy Castator, Director at Project Neutral.

Amy is a long-time climate activist and community builder. She is the co-founder and President of Carbon Conversations TO, founder of Amy Castator Coaching, and for 8 years, worked at WWF-Canada managing the award-winning Living Planet @ Work program. Amy has supported thousands of employees from workplaces across the country to take action for nature. Amy is now Director of the non-profit Project Neutral, whose mission is to bring all people into the climate movement through inclusive and action-oriented programs.

7:40pm - Liann Bobechko, Editor at BlueDot Living.

Liann Bobechko [pronounced Bo-betch-ko] has been an editor and writer with a focus on environment and science storytelling for the past 24 years. After almost two decades at Cottage Life magazine and a stint at Reader's Digest Canada, she is delighted to be working with Bluedot Living. Bluedot Living produces magazines and newsletters in 6 U.S. cities including Martha's Vineyard, Brooklyn, L.A., and Boston. This past fall, Bluedot Living Toronto was launched, becoming Canada's first edition. Bluedot Living aims to serve as an antidote to the bad environmental news, instead sharing stories of the many inspiring people, sustainable ideas, and smart climate actions going on right here in our city and all over the world.
