About Event

Why Now?

My curiosity led me to thinking about how Tesla operates and what their moat will be in 10 years. They are building the real world OS for AI. You have probably thought about it too.

This led me to hosting a deep tech mixer for NY TechWeek where I met Christina (more on her later). The universe works in mysterious ways. She was kind enough to educate me more.

Roboat, which came out of the MIT Lab, Senseable is doing the same to build autonomous boats.

The Question?

What is a hard problem in an underserved market? If enough of us think about, build, there is a lot to be discovered and unlocked.

Keynote from Christina Last [Computer Vision Researcher @ MIT]

We will hear from Christina Last at MIT to discuss opportunities for technologists interested in solving hard problems using computer vision at the intersection of machine learning.

It is going to be an epic 48 hours.

Judges

Pitch to DraperU Ventures, our pre-seed fund investing up to $100,000 and our friends in VC who we will invite on the judging panel.

To sign off, I will quote from Marc Andreessen's Techno-Optimist Manifesto:

We had a problem of starvation, so we invented the Green Revolution.

We had a problem of darkness, so we invented electric lighting.

We had a problem of cold, so we invented indoor heating.

We had a problem of heat, so we invented air conditioning.

We had a problem of isolation, so we invented the Internet.

We had a problem of pandemics, so we invented vaccines.

We have a problem of poverty, so we invent technology to create abundance.

Give us a real world problem, and we can invent technology that will solve it.

It's time to build.
