About Event

As we experience the increased effects of climate disruption both across the globe and nearby, many of our faith communities have been exploring how we can address our climate emergency and care for our Earth. At the same time, both nationally and locally, we have been having more open conversations about racial justice and wrestling with the white supremacy culture that we all live in.

Come together with others to explore the deep interconnections between what has often been treated as separate issues and calls for action. What happens when we bring the two together?

Through dialogue, exploration, worship and sharing Gail and LJ will weave together a time of deep prayerful reflection. Together we will seek to feel the heart of these issues and our next faithful steps.

This gathering for conversation will be facilitated by Gail Melix and LJ Boswell.

Gail Melix is a member of Sandwich Monthly Meeting and serves as clerk of NEYM Earthcare Ministry. She is a board member of Native Land Conservancy, a Wampanoag-led organization that rescues land.

LJ Boswell currently attends Putney Friends Meeting and was a founding member of Noticing Patterns of Oppression and Faithfulness Working Group of New England Yearly Meeting. This gathering is funded through a grant from the Obediah Brown Benevolent Fund and is free and open to all.
