Exhibition Walkthrough: Gala Porras-Kim at MUAC in CDMX

​Arkive is excited to present a guided tour of Gala Porras-Kim's Between Lapses of Histories exhibition on Friday, February 10th at 1:30PM at MUAC in Mexico City! This is a special moment we are so pleased to share with the Arkive community as one of the works that will be exhibited, "A terminal escape from the place that binds us" (2022,) is the first Arkive acquisition to be placed in a museum afterwards.

From the museum:
Gala Porras-Kim explores cultural artifacts and their relationship with their original functions. Her work reflects on the way in which objects are inserted into museums and heritage institutions and subjected to cataloging and conservation systems. In this subjection, besides preserving their physical integrity, institutions participate in defining and signifying the object.
